Babymoon Staycation
We had been planning to go away for a weekend before the munchkin gets here, to spend time just the two of us. We'd hoped for it to be June 5th weekend- it just didn't really work out that way- so we decided to spend the weekend in Raleigh.
Kerry and Brad went to the lake for the weekend, leaving us their house to ourselves (Thanks guys!)... and we had that vacation we'd been planning all along- crazy how it worked out.
Thursday night, Mike came into town after work for our Friday morning Dr. appointment. We had tacos and hung out with Kerry and Brad. It was so much fun to cook together, catch up and veg out and watch a little tv.
Friday morning, Mike had 2 meetings, our Drs. appointment went perfectly, we met a couple of hours later for lunch and we both counted down the time until 5:00. Kerry and Brad went out to dinner with the Cresses, so we ended up with another night- just the two of us and the dogs.
Saturday, the restful, fun time together continued. Mikey made waffles for breakfast, then we packed up and headed to the pool. It was the perfect day... beautiful weather, not too crowded... just me and the man that I adore.
We spent Saturday evening with friends celebrating Lizzy and Travis's engagement. Then came home to watch The Blindside. Awesome movie. I hope that we are that caring and nurturing as we grow up- and that our children are just as gracious, kind and mature as those in the movie.
We spent Sunday playing too- Brueggers for breakfast, some shopping and Frankie's Fun Park (Thanks to some gift cards I had left over from a work event :)). I beat Mike at miniature golf, we played arcade games, Mikey hit some balls in the batting cage, we had a nice afternoon snack at the bar and played Photo Hunt on the MegaTouch machine.
It was the perfect weekend. And I swear, I fall more in love with this man every day.
