Lucky in Love

It struck me when we were sitting at the pool together last weekend how very lucky we are. We are in love. Completely in love. We found our perfect match in this world... we love to spend time together… we share everything… and I cannot imagine life without Mike. How lucky are we that at 22 years old, we found the person that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with!?! 22. That is crazy. We’ve spent 7 years getting to know each other and getting to know ourselves… growing into the people we are today and the couple we are together. We get to start a family together, experience the majority of our lives together, grow old together, and there is not a person in this world that I’d rather have by my side …

I can’t help but smile, thinking how lucky Gunney is to have two parents who think the world of each other. Two people who can't wait for him to get here and complete our little family. Two people who are loved by so much by our family and friends… he is coming into a world of love and support. In this absolutely crazy world that we live in… he is coming into a world of love. That just makes my heart happy.

We can't wait for him to experience this world. But at the same time, promise not to rush him into growing up. We want him to take his sweet time and savor every moment. Be a kid, make mistakes, learn, grow, make friends, fall in love… Momma C gave me the book "Someday" for Mother's day... and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how someday, our baby will grow up, fall in love and have a day at the pool with someone he loves more than anything in this world. So simple. But after all, isn't that what life is really all about?
