The best "Team"

We've been staying at Kerry and Brad's house since last Saturday. After a great weekend with the East Coast Baylys (more to come in another post), we stayed. First, because we love it there. Secondly, because we were helping out. Dad came down with the Bangkok Flu (his words)... he was actually on the verge of pneumonia (doctor's words). So, on Monday night, Kerry and I, armed with Chic-fil-a, picked Mom up and rescued her from Germy McGermerson. We all slept in the West Wing of Kerry and Brad's mansion, so that we could be with Mom in case her vest went off.
Kerry and Brad take everything in stride... 10+ people staying in their house at once? No problem! Cousins sleeping in Baby C's crib before even he gets to? Sure! Waiting on us hand and foot the whole time? Seriously, why would we leave!?! Brad makes dinner every night- colorful, healthy and tasty. Kerry has 9 weeks left in her pregnancy and other than the basketball sized bump, you really would not know she is pregnant! She has not slowed one bit... she is amazing!
Mom and Dad have been such good sports too. I know the separation wasn't fun- especially when they are both sick... but they did great and I'm proud of both of them. They took us out to an awesome dinner at Tribeca Tavern last night (if you haven't been there, call us, we'll meet you, we can walk there)... yum!
Kyle has been phoning in from afar, despite the fact that in about um, a WEEK, he is going to be a Daddy... he is also launching and training a sales force and adding a bathroom to their third level. Really!?! My brother the superhero.
I do have to take a minute to brag about Mikey too. Not once has he even thought about complaining... he is so easygoing (and hardworking at the same time).... how does he do that? Since moving into Kerry and Brad's last week- he's been cooking, cleaning, taking care of Gunney, hanging out with Mom, playing with the dogs, running errands, etc. (Yes, these are all of the things he normally does). One day after I came home from work, he went home to get our feather bed and down comforter so that I could sleep better (even though I'm sure he thought it was a little silly), he never complained... just set up the bed and had it all ready for us to sleep- while rocking the baby and preparing dinner too...

I can't be thankful enough for our "team".

We're alive...

So, we are pretty much the worst bloggers, ever. We don't take pictures of every meal we eat or every place we go, we are excited when we have something other than sandwiches for dinner- let alone post fancy recipes and we have a 6 month old that we want to spend every minute with... so the last thing I want to do at the end of a work day is get back on the computer. We do want to let our families and friends know what we've been up to though... and for that, I'm very grateful to have a blog. Thanks for sticking with us!

Gunney is getting his first two teeth. Seriously, wasn't he just born yesterday?? He is almost 6 months old. His favorite mode of transportation is rolling. He says Ma, Ma Ma and Ba Ba Ba and Mike is trying his darndest to get him to say Da Da Da. You can see the wheels turning and he even moves his mouth, the sound just hasn't popped out... yet. He eats rice cereal and will have squash for the first time today. PS, he is the cutest baby I've ever seen.

We have been hanging out at Mom and Dad's house every extra minute that we have. About a month ago Mom had a scare and we have started our journey with a Cardiologist. Mom is truly the strongest woman I know and won't let a veek-art (weak heart) slow her down. Gunney has been the best "medicine" we could have hoped for... and Mike and I are enjoying the extra time with Mom and Dad too! (not to mention all of the delicious dinners, yum :))

KERRY AND BRAD ARE EXPECTING!!!!!!!!!!!! This news deserves its own post (and there is more to come). I've wanted to post this for a long time now... however it wasn't our news to share... which is why I didn't post when we found out. Then, they shared it with family and friends and I couldn't find a suitable picture to post (remember note above, worst bloggers). Good news is, Gunney's BFF will be born in about 11 weeks... and we couldn't be ANY more excited!

Kyle and Leah are about 5 weeks away from Baby Emery arriving. Kyle has been completing a major project in their home- adding an additional bathroom- and I'm so proud of how talented my "little" brother is. We don't get to see them as often as we like, but it was nice to visit when they were home a couple of weeks ago. I've booked my return flight through Atlanta on March the 11th... maybe she will arrive in time for my visit?? Leah has been amazing through her pregnancy and we can't wait to meet Gunney's newest cousin!

Mom and Dad C. came to visit for Kerry's shower on Saturday and Mike and his Dad hung out around the house, while Mom came to the shower. MawMaw left Gunney his First Valentines Day outfit and Stranger in the Woods book for his Valentine. Can't wait to read it to him! Thanks MawMaw!

Creed Gray started walking, Dillon got braces and the girls are both doing great in school. I don't know how they've all grown up so quickly! Seriously, they are going to be headed to college before we know it!

The next several weeks are packed with fun and excitement... and we will continue to share as often as possible.
